New Bat Certifications coming!  Just in time for Christmas!!!    Ho, Ho, Ho!

Youth Baseball in the United States is instituting a change in baseball bat construction for ages 7 though 13.  The bats currently on the market, which are marked with a 1.15BPF stamp, will no longer be legal for play in most youth leagues.

Since Ripken, Babe Ruth, and Little League are moving to the new USA stamp certification, HCTB, CRAB, Ripken Tournaments, and MABA are moving to the USA stamp only for 13U and younger for 2018.

How does this affect you?
  1. Forest Hill Travel teams age 8U through 13U will adhere to the new USA bat certification beginning in 2018.
  2. Forest Hill Rec teams age 7 through 12 will phase in the new bats so we will allow both 2 1/4 BPF 1.15 and USA-certified in 7-8 and 9-10 in 2018.
  3. 11-12 would allow 2 5/8 with a BPF Stamp or USA Stamp for 2018.
  4. Then, starting in 2019, only USA-stamped bats will be allowed in 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 Rec.  We will have team bats available for all Rec teams in 7-8 through 11-12 in 2019 that meet the USA bat standards.
  5. 14U Travel and up, 13-15 Rec and 15-19 Baseball will still require BBCOR.  No changes there from last year.
